The city of Branson, The Entertainment Capital of The World

Branson, MO The Hottest Destination For Entertainment

Branson, Missouri is in the heart of the Ozark Mountains in Southwest Missouri. The city is a great spot for a family vacation destination. As a travel enthusiast, I am always on the lookout for exciting new places to visit with my family. While searching for a place to vacation I came across this fantastic city that has so much to offer for the entire family. Its 76 Country Boulevard is lined with theaters offering all kinds of shows; from concerts, musicals, comedy, and a great variety of different attractions for the family, it is worth exploring. Being at the heart of the Ozark Mountains Branson also provides plenty of outdoor activities for the outdoor enthusiast.

There is a variety of RV places to stay while visiting Branson. The City of Branson Lakeside RV Park is a great alternative when your priority is to be close to the action. Located at walking distance from the Branson Landing, Branson Convention Center, and the Historic Downtown. There is also a free trolley stop where you can hop in and explore different areas of the Historic Downtown. For a more secluded place with excellent views of the town, there is Branson View Campground. Or if you are looking for a more resort-style RV place there is Silver Dollar City Campground. Featuring campsites, hand-crafted rustic log cabins, and RV sites and is all conveniently located just minutes from Branson’s top attractions and provides complimentary shuttle service to Silver Dollar City theme park.

The Historic Downtown Branson, where the town has its origins dates back to 1888. But it was not until 1912 that it was finally incorporated. Here you can find affordable shops, art galleries, and restaurants. With dozens of small business shops offering crafts, novelties, and souvenirs. Dicks 5 & 10 is a landmark of the Historic Downtown where you can find all kinds of novelties and memorabilia from famous tv sitcoms shows like FRIENDS or blockbuster movies like Harry Potter. You can also find all kinds of souvenirs allegoric to the city of Branson. Dicks 5 & 10 became one of the favorite spots for my family to shop while we were visiting the town.

Right in the Historic Downtown, you can visit the 1906 railroad depot where you can go aboard the Branson Scenic Railway, with stunning rides through the Ozarks countryside in authentic 1950s luxury passenger cars. The one hour forty-five minutes ride will take you through tunnels, over trestles, and parts of southwest Missouri of northwest Arkansas. On the train ride, you may come across the wildlife roaming around the area and the ruins of long-ago communities only visible on railroad maps while enjoying great food.

Favorite things to do.

Lost Canyon Cave & Nature Trail, where you can experience an amazing self-guided tour 2.5-mile trail on an electric cart exploring stunning rock formations, waterfalls, and views of Table Rock Lake and drive inside the remarkable Lost Canyon Cave where you will be amazed at the formation of columns, stalactites, and stalagmites at the center of this four-story cave is a magnificent cascading waterfall. I recommend getting here early in the morning since the electric carts are on a first-come, first-served basis. Otherwise, you will have to wait in line for the first available cart. Included with your admission you get a complimentary entrance to the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum. The museum displays artifacts from the rich ancient history of the Ozarks and Native American culture.

Silver Dollar City is Branson’s theme park. Pack with roller coasters, shows, and history. It will make for a great day of fun and adventure with the family. The park is a big loop trail that blends with the natural surroundings. While visiting the park you can witness talented blacksmiths and carpenters at work casually talking enthusiastically to the public about their craft as part of the park’s interesting history. The park started with a tour of the subterranean cave when it first opens to the public. As the popularity of the tour grew the owners started to add more attractions to entertain the public while they were waiting for the cave tour until what it is now. If you are visiting this park you must stop at the grandfather’s mansion where the unusual is usual and you cannot trust your senses. Take a train ride in the park’s original steam engine locomotive and laugh with the show the conductor and local villagers performed while you are onboard.

DOLLY PARTON  STAMPEDE

Dolly Parton’s Stampede is one of the attractions located at 76 Country Boulevard. Visiting here will immerse you in a great dinner show experience where you will observe cowboy’s acrobatics with horses and a light show combined with a huge LED screen to make you feel you are in the middle of the action. You will need reservations here, but not to worry they offer two shows per day most days of the week.

BEYOND THE LENS

Beyond the lens, one of the many sideshow attractions in the area is worth visiting. Is an interactive museum suitable for the entire family with games and interesting exhibitions. Also, here with a purchase of an additional ticket, you could ride on their flight simulator which takes you around the world, showing you beautiful scenery from different places of the world.

Hollywood Wax Museum is located right off 76 Country Boulevard, Branson, MO

At the center of all the attractions

Right across Beyond the lens is the Hollywood Wax Museum where you can have your picture taken with the cream of the crop celebrities. I recommend visiting this museum late in the evening as they are one of the attractions that are open late and there are not many people at that hour.

Dogwood Canyon

For people who love the outdoors, there is Dogwood Canyon. A beautiful 3.5 miles one-way paved trail that you can do walking, biking, on a Segway tour, or in a tram. You will be crossing the state line from Missouri to Arkansas while on the trail. If you choose the tram tour, you will be treated to a tour of the local farm full of bison and elks. The park also has unpaved trails for the people who like to explore more the natural side of the area. Staying on the paved trail was enough for me here. You can bring your bicycle or rent one on the premises. Also, you are allowed to bring your fishing pole. This place is perfect if you want to have a picnic with your family or if you do not want to bring food you can stop by the restaurant at the entrance or one of the food trucks located mid-point in the trail.

Dogwood Canyon is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors surrounded by nature.

The Landing mall is an open mall by the Historic Downtown full of local shops and nationally recognized chef restaurants. A perfect place for dining and walking around in a relaxed environment with a great view of the lake.

I must admit that I left the city with great memories, laughs, and a bit rejuvenated. Such a great place to escape from the mundane daily routine. The friendliness of the locals will make you feel right at home, the surrounding nature will help you relax, and all the activities and entertainment will keep you busy enjoying the best the city of Branson has to offer. You will leave the city feeling happy and recharged at the same time. With so much to do and see, you will not be bored at any moment while you are staying in Branson. I am glad I found this wonderful place and had the opportunity to explore the area. I hope you have the same opportunity in the future to visit this great city to try for yourself what is so special about it.
